South African Children and Pornography
South African Children and Pornography is a practical guide to helping adults, in particular practitioners, understand the extent and impact of pornography viewing on children. Using the experiences of South African children, statistics and research, the goal of the book is to help practitioners understand how and why so many children are exposed to pornography at such an early age, the effect of pornography viewing is on children’s brains, behaviour and relationships, and how pornography viewing makes children more susceptible to other forms of sexual abuse including self-generated sexual abuse material and more prone to risky and harmful sexual behaviours. The goal is to assist adults with prevention of harm and to help them intervene when children are exposed.
The book is free for download and distribution.
